In the Junta, Tech Group was part of the team responsible to prepare the Request for Proposal for the designing of the Data Center according to the Technical Staff Specifications.
The Board selected IBM Data Center division to provide the Design and the Roadmap for the proper implementation of the Data Center. Tech Group participated in the Technical Committee, providing the basis for Data Center compliance and making sure that its design was according to the technical requirements.
During the implementation phase, we were part of the Steering Committee responsible for the Project Management. Also, while the Data Center was in construction, there were other projects running necessary for the completion of the Data Center. These projects were:
- Infrastructure (cabling and telecommunications)
- Cooling and energy devices
One of the reasons for setting this Data Center was to prepare the infrastructure to support the acquisition of an Integrated Application Software System. The system must be able to handle all Critical operational functions of the Junta. In addition, must be flexible enough to accept electronic transactions, generate and manage claims and allow electronic filings.
This system was design to maintain an electronic recordkeeping thru the document lifecycle and in compliance with the governmental electronic document policy establish by the Public Document Program of the Administración de Servicios Generales (ASG).
Tech Group was part of the Bid Board responsible for the preparation of the Requests for Proposal and Vendor Selection for all data center components and the application software.
